Thanksgiving

This will be a first at my house. We are sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner knowing that if the courts do not protect us, we won't be next year unless the homeless shelter has turkey. That is a tough place to be, and I am struggling with it. None-the-less I am thankful:
  • I am thankful for my family which gathers lovingly and truly cares for each person.
  • I am thankful for the community of faith in our parish, our church and beyond that prays and cares
  • I am thankful for the Anglicans for Comprehensive Unity team which lost a vote yesterday but will win the campaign.
  • I am thankful for Sue-z who continues for no obvious reason to stay with me.
  • I am thankful for the freedom that this country and this church give me to be myself.
  • I am thankful for the amazing courage of the people of Sudan whom we support in their quest for freedom.
Tomorrow we cut Christmas trees. Life marches on and I continue to search for an employer who does not see my age but rather my competencies. We will survive and the world will move on.

Thanks be to God.
