On another topic

Why does Glenn Beck have a job? I am not a scholar of Islam, arguably I am not a scholar of much. But I at least attempt to do a bit of homework. Beck recently had one of his maps showing a "worst case" if Egypt actually gets rid of dictatorship consisting of a single Islamic State with Sharia law which according to Beck would automatically be anti-American.

We have seen this stupidity before. In the 1950's the ultra-right wing cant included the idea of a "monolithic Marxism" that never existed. In that scenario the Soviet block was a single creature (never true) which joined in single purpose with Cuba, China and the Indo-Chinese states would attack "the West" in one massive wave of destruction. Of course we now can show what most intelligent observers knew then -- there never was a single Marxist enterprise.

Beck is apparently too stupid to notice that Islam is not a monolithic structure. Sunni Islam does not recognize Shia as Islam and the reverse is true. Neither thinks Sufi which is present if not dominant in Syria is Islam and there are are by the way, several different kinds of both. Toss in Moabite Islam and the idea of a single Islamic state (with at least five different royal families) is simply silly. Then we can notice the derivatives such as Druze and B'hai and what you have is a mosaic.

Islam is about as monolithic as Christianity ever was in Europe. The only monolith in Islam is the one in Mecca.

If Fox is interested, I am available. I am better looking, I have a brain and I actually read!

Your last three points ("I am better looking, I have a brain and I actually read") obviously disqualify you.

Well, I guess better looking would be okay, but thinking and reading are just a left wing conspiracy.

Another stupid person once opined that the United States was one of the largest Islamic nations in the world. I sometimes wonder why he has the job he does as well.

*sigh* liberal memories are so selective.

I must confess to not recalling if I ever knew, who said that. I had to look it up and I am surprised.

One frequent right wing error is to conflate religious liberalism with political. I live in Illinois which may explain why I have never voted for Mr. Obama (or Mr. McCain actually.) One should be a bit careful about the assumptions.

Well, if you keep showing up on Saturday mornings on people's houses eventually you'll find out that only the desperate, the lonely or the truly eccentric will join your organization.
The thought of Beck and Mrs. Beck getting their own planet to populate for all eternity......
