Well, the bishops met, and did what they did. Then the holier than God bishops met in absolutely closed sessions in Pittsburgh and did what they did.
So we have the spectacle of the official bodies of the Episcopal church acting to somehow preserve a relation with the 'bullydox' while they go merrily on their predetermined way.
At the end of the day, the whole thing, the mythological 'Anglican communion' will be at least wounded, and more likely reduced to several splitters. And, as is now the case, for most of the world it wont matter. It wont matter because we are not preaching, not reaching out, not capturing either gays or straights. We are preoccupied with a determined minority, unable to articulate our message, and by our constant trimming, alienating the lgbt population that the right wants to exclude.
